Flirting Tips and Dating Advice
Words
of Wisdom to Help Make Your Dating Experience One to Remember
Be Creative
Some of you might feel as
though you are in a dating rut. The same old "movie
and dinner" on Friday or Saturday night. Step outside
of your comfort zone and try on someone else's shoes, so to
speak. Do something you might not do ordinarily.
You could visit your local skating rink (ice or
roller), or perhaps you live in a place where you can rent
roller blades and blade down a boardwalk somewhere.
Maybe you don't rollerblade...you can stroll down the
boardwalk instead and people watch. I, personally,
love to people watch...as I do
flirting. Sometimes
when I am sitting or walking with someone, we
make up stories about the many individuals that pass us by. It's
easy (and fun) to imagine the lives of those
around you. You could go to a park and ride the carousel or go
to the zoo. A sidewalk cafe is a perfect place to
sit and have an ice cold drink or a cup of coffee and comment on
the passersby (while
flirting). You could go for breakfast and
share the Sunday paper. You can learn a lot about a person by which
parts of the paper they read (or don't). Perhaps
you have a rose garden or an arboretum close be that you can stroll through. Museums are good (as are aquariums)...they
provide a lot of material for conversation. Sporting events are
fun, but don't always give one the opportunity to
converse. You can always go out afterwards and talk about the
game at a nice quiet table for two. If you're into
the ponies, you could always go to the racetrack. There's
nothing like it on a beautiful day. Just keep the bets
small, so you don't alienate your date by letting him/her lose
all their money. The local marina is a good place to
have lunch, while looking out over the water and the boats (and
flirting).
The possibilities are endless. If you can't think of anything
that sounds good or seems different, you can always
visit your local Visitors Bureau, the Chamber of Commerce or go online. Sometimes there
are things right in your town that you don't even
know about...outdoor concerts, auctions, art fairs or art walks. Taking a little time to do a little research can turn
your blind date into a memorable experience. The way I figure
it, if the person you're dating doesn't end up doing
it for you, at least you will have gone somewhere different or
tried something you might not have, otherwise. Go
on, broaden your horizons...try a little
flirting...have fun with the whole
thing...break out of your shell. It's true that you might try
something or go somewhere that you find you don't enjoy, but if
you never try it, you'll never know!
Happy Dating!
